Yes\, it’s an early start\, and sometimes a late finish\, but a fun day for all. We look at these events as opportunities to train and exercise our communication abilities. Last year was no exception with the sudden loss of the net control station\, and almost immediate restoration of coverage by another station. It’s events like these that give us that kind of practice. \nWith open roads and forest trails\, from the Rehoboth Bandstand to Lewes Beach\, and a whole lot in between\, the twenty six plus mile course is challenging. We need to be there\, on the course\, providing the remote eyes and ears for the Mobile Command Unit. Here’s an opportunity to get out in the fresh air in natural surroundings. Physical limitations are not an issue. Operators are assigned based on their abilities. You want a stationary sit in your car position\, we’ve got them. On a bicycle on a trail\, that too.
